The 2021 Winneshiek County Fair is fast approaching. After taking a year off in 2020 due to the pandemic, one of the best county fairs in Iowa is back from July 13-17.

The Fair will officially kick off Tuesday, July 13, in Decorah with a night of action-packed racing at Upper Iowa Speedway for the evening’s Grandstand entertainment. Hot laps will start at 6 p.m. with racing to follow at 6:30 p.m.

On Wednesday evening (July 14), Rogue Rodeo will take to the main stage at 7 p.m.

Thursday night, July 15, the Grandstand show will be highlighted by the shear power and entertainment of the NTPA (National Tractor Pullers Association) truck and tractor pull. The first hooks are set to start at 7 p.m., with several classes of the best pullers in the entire country ready to compete.

On Friday night, Sawyer Brown Band will take to the main stage for the first night of concert entertainment. With the reputable country band set to take the stage at 9 p.m., the night will kick off with opener Joe Stamm starting at 7:30 p.m.

The final night of entertainment for the 2021 Winneshiek County Fair will feature country music stars Jordan Davis (9 p.m.) and opener Gabby Barrett (7:30 p.m.).

Over recent years, newcomer Gabby Barrett has put out several country music headliners, including “I Hope” and “The Good Ones.”

For Davis, success has also put out more than his fair share of chart toppers, including “Singles You Up,” “Take It From Me,” “Slow Dance in a Parking Lot,” and “Almost Maybes.”

Fair buttons are currently on sale and can be purchased with PayPal or a debit/credit card at winneshiekcountyfair.org/buttons.html. Buttons are $30 each in advance and $35 at the door (2020 Fair buttons will be honored and used as the design for this year). Buttons can be purchased at over 30 area businesses as well. A full list of locations can be found online at the address listed above.
