Randy Osmundson

Randy Ray Osmundson passed away unexpectedly on April 15, 2021.

A private service is being held in his memory at a later date.

Randy was born, raised and lived most of his life in West Union, IA. He grew up a farm boy with parents, Loren and LaVonne, and siblings Michael, Karen, Kris, Lonnie, Gary and Melodee.

One of his favorite quotes was a plaque owned by Ronald Reagan that said “It CAN be done.” He not only loved this quote, he lived it. Along side dedicated and loyal employees and friends, what started as a small farming operation grew to the prominent agricultural entity, Northern Ag Service. His business successes, while admirable, came second to his faith. He could often be found reading his Bible or catching up on the latest Chuck Swindoll. He was known for his master negotiating skills, his sense of humor and adventure, his story telling ability, and his intellectual brilliance.

Special memories cherished by his children Emily, Holly, Aimee and John include many hikes around rural IA, biking Colorado mountains, flea markets, trips to Inspiration Point Bible Camp, and family sing-a-longs on warm summer nights. His greatest source of pride and joy was his 7 grandchildren who hold onto memories of fishing, cart rides to “do chores”, and running and jumping into big bear hugs.

While we feel he was taken too soon, Randy’s unwavering faith in God kept him from ever fearing death. We take comfort that he is with his Lord and Savior.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father and brother Gary. He was loved by so many and will be remembered by all.
